Dr. Farhan Ahmad (Scientific Advisor)
Dr. Farhan Ahmad is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology at GITAM School of Science, Hyderabad. He holds an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Jamia Millia Islamia and a Ph.D. from the University of Hyderabad. Dr. Ahmad’s postdoctoral research, conducted at IIT Hyderabad and the University of Hyderabad, focused on tissue engineering and vaccine delivery. His research aims to advance medical technologies, particularly through the use of extracellular vesicles (EVs) in diagnostics, prophylaxis, and therapeutics. He has contributed to the development of bioactive wound dressings for chronic wounds and has designed cutting-edge nanostructured platforms to enhance drug and vaccine delivery systems.
Dr. Mohammad Shariq (Scientific Advisor)
Dr. Mohammed Shariq is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at GITAM School of Science, Hyderabad. His research focuses on significantly advancing the understanding of infectious diseases and their underlying cellular processes. Dr. Shariq holds a doctorate in Cellular and Molecular Biology of Infectious Diseases from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), India. Specializing in TB pathomechanisms and microbial pathogenesis, he has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals, including Autophagy and Frontiers in Immunology. Beyond his research, Dr. Shariq serves as a reviewer for journals such as Frontiers and Scientific Reports and holds the position of review editor for Gut Pathogens.
